About us
PUB File Opener exists for one job: letting anyone open a Microsoft Publisher file without owning Publisher. Someone sends you a newsletter, flyer or brochure as a .pub file, and you just want to see it, print it or pass it on. You should not have to install anything or sign up for anything to do that.
Why we built it
Publisher has only ever been available on Windows, and Microsoft is retiring it. That leaves years of .pub files that most people, on a Mac, a phone, a Chromebook or a newer PC, have no way to open. PUB File Opener turns them into formats that open everywhere: PDF for reading and printing, and PNG or JPG images of each page for sharing.
How it works
You upload a .pub file of up to 25 MB. Our servers convert it with LibreOffice's Publisher import filter, render each page, and show you a preview with download links. If the document uses a font we do not have, we substitute a close match and tell you which fonts were replaced, so you know to check the layout.
Converting one file at a time is free.
What we promise
- No account. We never ask for your name or email address to convert a file.
- Files are deleted. Everything you upload, and everything made from it, is deleted automatically within 60 minutes, or straight away when you press Delete now.
- Nobody looks at your files. Conversion is fully automatic, and files are never reused.
- No tracking cookies. We count visits with cookie-free analytics, and that is all. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
